Is music a disposible commodity?

I’ve been thinking a lot lately how music has changed over the years for me.  In the beginning when I had my first job, I spent tons of money of cd’s.  I’d say about 60% of the funds from my paper route went to buying new cd’s. Today, i’m lucky if I buy 5 albums a year.  Sure, downloading has a lot to do with it. But, that’s not the point i’m trying to make here, and probably deserves a post on its own.   Since the mp3 was created my  music consumption process has changed.  I don’t think I really appreciate Read the rest of this entry »

Supporting Canadian Content!

So, I stumbled on this documentary today, and I thought I would share it with you all. It’s called On Piracy and I’m downloading it right now. You should check it out. It’s free by the way, so that means the copright holder has given permission for everyone to download it. Check it out. Sounds likes its gonna be pretty good. Worst case scenario download it just to piss off your Internet Service Provider. We all know they hate downloaders… but what about legal downloaders?  I’m willing to bet they feel the same way about them as they do pirates.

Why all the hate?

Apparently all of my posts about music, and hockey, and school has gotten me some serious hate from the nation of China. What did I ever do to you?

I was bored today so I decided to check my blog at greatfirewallofchina.net and much to my suprise I’ve been blocked. No on in the nation-state of China can see my website. I kind of got a chuckle about it at first, but then I got a little bit angry. Talk about paranoid! Set your people free… geesh. If you don’t believe me check it out for yourself.
